Margaret "Maggie" Hill Wells · 1820 – 1927 · Buried at Rock Hill Cemetery, Jacksonville, Georgia

This year's reunion celebrates the 103rd year of the Morgan-Frazier family gathering — a tradition begun by the extraordinary reunification of Maggie Wells with her children after 82 years apart. We gather in her honor, carrying her legacy forward.

A Family Born
of Strength & Faith

The Morgan-Frazier family clan traces its origins to the Gullah Geechee heritage of coastal Georgia and the resilience of ancestors who survived the cruelty of enslavement. Matilda Morgan Frazier (1862–1942) and her husband Jordan Frazier, Sr. (c.1859–1925) built a family of 11 children in Screven, Georgia — and their legacy has grown into a sprawling clan across these United States.

"Indeed, the very soil that they once walked upon as slaves, we now own it as free and proud black men and women!"

— Herman Franklin Harris, Sr., Family Reflections
